Wild Birds of the American Wetlands Book, Note Cards and Limited Edition Prints

The stunning photographs taken by Rosalie Winard, now on exhibit in the Museum's Dumke Gallery, are also available in lovely gift-giving formats. 

Wild Birds of the American Wetlands Book includes 52 photographs taken by naturalist and artist Rosalie Winard.  The luminous black and white photographs are accompanied by a stunning essay from Terry Tempest-Williams.  In her exploration of the migratory birds of the Great Salt Lake, Rosalie herself has become a "migratory citizen" of Utah.  This book is a lovely demonstration of Utah's unique connection to the rest of North America.  A few copies signed by the artist are available.  The hardcover coffee-table book is $39.95 before UMNH Member discount.

Sandhill Crane Limited Edition Prints Rosalie has made available a small run a limited edition run of prints available at the Museum Store.  The unframed prints are $100.00 each before UMNH Member discount.

Thomas Friedman Book and Lecture Tickets

Hot, Flat, and Crowded: Why we need a green revolution - and how it can renew America, the latest book from commentator Thomas Friedman, hit the best-seller lists within days of its release.  The book, almost prophetic in the timeliness of its content, provides a fresh outlook at the combined crises of climate change and global energy dependence.  Copies of Friedman's book are available at the Museum Store -- UMNH Members receive a discount on the purchase and the proceeds stay in our community.  Hardcover $27.95 before UMNH Member discount.

Exclusive Tickets to Thomas Friedman's Utah Lecture UMNH and the Hinckley Institute of Politics at the University of Utah are pleased to present an evening with Thomas Friedman in Salt Lake City, Tuesday, March 10, 2009.  Combine a gift of Friedman's book with tickets to the lecture!  Tickets are $35, $18 and $10 and are on sale through ArtTix.
